We invite applications from doctoral students whose dissertations are in the subject area of the colloquium and are enrolled at a university in an EU country of East Central Europe (Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia). The group of participants is limited to eight people.

Successful applicants will receive scholarships covering the travel and accommodation expenses.

The main idea of this event is to strengthen the cooperation of students from these countries and between them and the FOVOG ("Research Centre for the Comparative History of Religious Orders”, Dresden [Germany] – http://www.fovog.de/englisch/indexen.html ).

Our long-term goal is to develop and continue institutional framework, with appropriate external funds, which will be build on a joint supervision of dissertations in the area of the medieval monasteries and orders by universities of those countries and the University of Dresden.

The colloquium will be held from 21 to 24 November 2016.

It will be conducted in English. Each participant will present his or her dissertation topic with a presentation of 45 minutes, which is then discussed in detail.

Applications are to be sent to gert.melville@t-online.de under the heading of “International colloquium” until 8 July 2016. They should contain a CV, possibly bibliography, 2-page outline of the thesis project, letters of recommendation of the supervisor
