The Leibniz Institute for Educational Media / Georg Eckert Institute (GEI) invites applications for the 2023 Otto Bennemann Grant. The deadline for applications is September 30, 2022.

Otto Bennemann Grant 2023

The aim of the grant is to promote innovative work in the fields of textbook and educational media research. Applications are welcomed from established academics and from individuals in Germany and around the world who work on textbook composition, for textbook publishers or whose didactic work significantly influences curricula and textbooks. The grant enables recipients to spend a dedicated period using the research library and meeting with colleagues to exchange ideas and information.

The grant award is 2,000 EUR a month and generally covers research stays of four to six weeks duration. Travel allowances in form of a lump sum determined by the institute may be payable to fellowship recipients who have to travel a long distance, provided funds are available. Applicants that intend to apply for a travel allowance must state this in their application.

Find additional information and download the application form on our website: http://www.gei.de/en/fellowships/otto-bennemann-grant.html

The respective research project must be linked to the collection held in the GEI research library. Applications should comprise the following documents sent as one PDF document:
- the completed application form,
- a curriculum vitae and a list of the applicant’s most important publications,
- a detailed description of the project with extensive information regarding the themes and subject of the research,
- details of preparatory work and the envisaged work schedule during the applicant’s stay at the GEI,
- a list of literature (bibliography) in the GEI collection that the applicant wishes to consult,
- details of the expected result of the work (monograph, post-doctoral thesis, etc.).

Fellowship holders must spend the period covered by the grant residing in Braunschweig. Accommodation may be available in the guest apartments provided by GEI. The grant recipient is required to give a public lecture at the Georg Eckert Institute.

Grants may be used at any time during 2023. The selection process should be completed by the mid of December 2022; the successful applicants will then be informed.

Please send your application documents, together with the documents listed above, in electronic format only (one PDF file no larger than 9 MB, applications in any other format will not be considered) to fellowship@leibniz-gei.de by September 30, 2022.
