Am Lehrstuhl für Wissenschaftsgeschichte (Prof. Anke te Heesen) des Instituts für Geschichtswissenschaften der Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin ist im Rahmen des Forschungsprojekts „Learning from Alzheimer’s disease. A history of biomedical models of mental illness“ (Leitung: Dr. Lara Keuck; gefördert durch das „Society in Science - The Branco Weiss Fellowship“) ein Promotionsstipendium ab sofort zu vergeben. Die Dissertation muss nicht die Alzheimer-Krankheit zum Thema haben, sollte aber einen klaren Bezug zu einem der Forschungsschwerpunkte des Projekts (‚Geschichten des Lernens’, ‚Epistemologie des Exemplarischen’, ‚Praktiken der Retrospektion’, ‚Methodologische Selbstreflexion’) aufweisen.
Die Förderung wird vorerst bis zum 31. August 2017 gewährt. Eine Verlängerung des Promotionsstipendiums um weitere drei Jahre bis zum 31. August 2020 wird angestrebt. Die Höhe des Stipendiums richtet sich nach den Sätzen der vom Land Berlin vergebenen Elsa-Neumann-Stipendien (derzeit monatlich 1.000 Euro + 103 Euro Sachmittelzuschuss + Familienzuschuss). Darüberhinaus stehen weitere Mittel für Reisen und andere Forschungsaktivitäten zur Verfügung.
Aussagekräftige Bewerbungen mit CV, Zeugniskopien und einem Exposé (1.000-2.000 Worte), aus dem insbesondere die Forschungsfragestellung der Dissertation sowie deren Bezug zum „Learning from Alzheimer’s disease“-Projekt hervorgehen soll, werden bis zum 15. Predoc Fellowship
Starting date: as soon as possible, limited until August 31, 2017 with the option of extension for up to three years until August 31, 2020 (subject to a positive research evaluation).
The fellowship will comprise part of the research project “Learning from Alzheimer’s disease. A history of biomedical models of mental illness” (led by Dr. Lara Keuck, funded by Society in Science - The Branco Weiss Fellowship). The proposed dissertation need not focus on Alzheimer’s disease, but should have a clear connection to one of the core themes of the project: Histories of Learning, Epistemology of the Exemplar, Practices of Retrospection, and Methodological Self-Reflection.
The value of the fellowship follows the Elsa-Neumann-Stipends of Berlin (1,103 Euro per month plus family allowance). Further funding for travelling and other research activities is available.
