Scholarships for Transnational Access to Special Collections and Transnational Acces to Archival Documents
ReIReS (Research Infrastructure on Religious Studies) offers scholarships for researchers from the member states of the EU and from the countries associated to Horizon2020 on historical religious studies at fourteen facilities located in outstanding European research centres and universities in Belgium, Bulgaria, France, Germany, and Italy:

- École Pratique des Hautes Études, Paris, France: Collections patrimoniales, Shiite Collection.
- Fondazione per le scienze religiose Giovanni XXIII, Bologna, Italy: Giuseppe Dossetti Library and FSCIRE Archives.
- JGU Mainz, Germany: Bereichsbibliothek Theologie/Theological Library and Jüdische Bibliothek/Jewish Library.
- JGU Mainz, Germany: Gesangbucharchiv/Hymnbook Archive.
- Katholieke Universiteit Leuven/KU Leuven, Belgium: Central Library, Manuscripts & Rare Books.
- Katholieke Universiteit Leuven/KU Leuven, Belgium: Maurits Sabbe Library, Rare and Precious Books.
- Katholieke Universiteit Leuven/KU Leuven, Belgium: Maurits Sabbe Library, Archive for the Study of Vatican II.
- Katholieke Universiteit Leuven/KU Leuven, Belgium: University Archive.
- Martinus-Bibliothek – Wissenschaftliche Diözesanbibliothek/Martinus-Bibliothek – Academic and Regional Library of the Diocese of Mainz (Partner of JGU Mainz), Germany.
- Sofiiski Universitet Sveti Kliment Ohridski/Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski, Bulgaria: Center for Slavonic and Byzantine Studies.
- Universität Hamburg, Germany: University Library, Special Collections.
- Wissenschaftliche Stadtbibliothek Mainz/Municipal Academic Library Mainz, Germany (Partner of JGU Mainz).

All these centres and libraries grant access to collections of manuscripts, documents and rare books and represent relevant collections of Christian, Jewish and Muslim documents and books which allow studies concerning religious studies and interreligious and interconfessional dialogue throughout history.
Scholars can apply for a transnational access scholarship to consult each of these special collections and libraries (excluding those belonging to the user‘s country) in order to develop innovative and groundbreaking investigations in historical religious studies.

ReIReS grants to users the support for travel (standard economy airfare) and subsistence (accommodation). Users spend typically two weeks at the provider institution, meeting experts and scholars, the curators of the special collections, conservators and restorers.
Users of TASC and TAAD take advantage in dealing with all these materials with the constant tutorial of experts of the host provider who are specialists in the research field for which access has been requested, and who assist and guide the use and interpretation of the data.

Call closes: 19th August 2018

Applicants will receive notice of the status of their scholarship applications by 14th September 2018.
There will be future calls for applicants every six months until July 2020.
