Your tasks include:
- Collaboration in the creation of a handbook on Old Yiddish adaptations of premodern German-language texts (e.g., Dukus Horant, Widuwilt, Sigenot, Die schöne Magelone, Melusine, Til Eulenspiegel, etc.). Content of the handbook: information on the transmission of individual texts, editions and translations, content and structure, historical and cultural context, suggestions for interpretation, current state of research, bibliographies.
- Independent research and publications in peer-reviewed journals
- Contribution to the development of an online repository for Old Yiddish adaptations of German-language sources
- Participation in organizing international workshops on the topic
Your profile:
- Completed academic degree in Yiddish Studies, Jewish Studies, Jewish History, or German Studies; preferably, a completed PhD in one of these fields
- Research focus on Yiddish literature
- High motivation for dedicated and conceptually independent research
