Open call to candidates for a tenure-track position in the German Language and Literature division at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem

Candidates are being sought for a tenure-track position in German language and literature in the Humanities Faculty of The Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

Job requirements:

Knowledge of spoken and written German at native-speaker level; comprehensive knowledge of German-language literature, with special emphasis on the period between the 18th and the 20th centuries; comprehensive knowledge of German literary criticism; working knowledge of German philosophy, with special emphasis on the interrelationship between literature and philosophy in German-speaking cultures; working knowledge of the historical and cultural contexts of German literature.
Eligible candidates must have a doctoral degree in German literature, comparative literature, or any other appropriate field.
The language of instruction at the Hebrew University is Hebrew, but candidates who have not yet mastered Hebrew will be given time to acquire the necessary facility with Hebrew during the first years of their appointment.
