An an internationally operating research university with about 36,000 students and 7 faculties, the University of Bonn is looking for a
Researcher English Medieval Studies (100%)
in the Department of English, American and Celtic Studies.
This is a doctoral or postdoctoral position from 1st February 2018 until 31st January 2021, with the possibility of an extension after this period.
Requirements:
- MA/PhD in Medieval Studies, English Literatures and Cultures or related disciplines
- Fluency in English
- German language skills or willingness to learn
- Proposal for a dissertation or postdoc project in Old or Middle English literature that can realistically be completed within three years
- Adequate linguistic skills to carry out research project
Duties:
- Course design and teaching in English Medieval Studies (4 SWS/hours per week); All teaching is done in English
- Participation in student assessment and mentoring as well as associated administrative responsibilities
- Participation in research and publication projects, conference and outreach activities
- Execution of independent research project
We are offering:
- Salary level: TV-L E 13
- Teaching load: 4 hours per week
- Total work load: 39.83 hours per week
- A reduced rate public transport travel pass is available on request
