Deadline for application: 12.03.2018

Collecting institutions such as museums, archives, and libraries are constantly faced with new challenges caused by social changes and innovations in media technology. These challenges concern the management and leadership as well as the core tasks of collecting institutions: acquisition, conservation, research, exhibition, and
communication of humanity's tangible and intangible heritage.

The blended learning programme offers a well-balanced combination of practice-oriented, on-site study units (3 weeks/semester) and phases of online learning, both of them conducted by international experts from the academic world as well as practitioners from collecting institutions. The core curriculum (90 ECTS) focuses on issues such as concepts and strategies for collections, collection logistics, collection-related research, research networks, barrier-free exhibition and media concepts as well as the legal framework when dealing with art and cultural objects.
