n-ost (Germany) together with Fundacja Autonomia (Poland) and Human Constanta (Belarus) are pleased to announce the start of the application process for our second joint event within the project “History Unit: Reframing Queer Narratives in Media”.-
The program connects media professionals and queer activists who have journalistic experience. With this workshop, we want to research narratives of queer past with main focus on the NS-persecution of queers. We want to draw meaningful parallels between historical oppression of LGBTQ+ individuals and the present-day challenges faced by queer communities in the project countries. This educational program includes:
- a thematic tour to the memorial site of Buchenwald (Germany) with insight in historic sources- - tours of Berlin’s queer archives and libraries: Spinnboden, Schwules Museum
- lectures and discussions with researchers, journalists and activists (among them Joanna Ostrowska)
- practical working phases with professional support
- city tours
- cultural events
- networking
All participants of the program will have the opportunity to apply for a follow up stipendium to create cross-border journalistic content. More information will be provided during the workshop.
