In Ghent (Belgium), an international colloquium on “Positioning Academic Heritage. Challenges for Universities, museums and society in the 21st century.” will be organized from Monday 18 till Wednesday 20 November 2013.
The colloquium is an initiative of the Ghent University Museums, the botanical garden and the archive of Ghent University. This colloquium fits within the framework of the U4 collaboration of curators and museum directors of the museums at the Universities of Ghent, Groningen, Göttingen and Uppsala.
Most universities have rich and diverse collections originating from educational and/or research activities. We would like to bring together experts and researchers with experience in the field of art and (university) museum policy to share their expertise and ideas on the topic of academic heritage and its role in 21st century.
Additional information on the International Colloquium can be found on the following webpage http://www.sciencemuseum.ugent.be/colloquium/index.html.
The program now includes the list of invited speakers for each session.
Abstracts can be submitted until July, 15th, 2013.
