Teil der Tagung ist eine hochkarätig besetzte Podiumsdiskussion zum Thema: Wissenschaft und Verantwortung in der Migrationsgesellschaft: Positionen und Perspektiven – ein Gespräch
Angesichts wachsender globaler Ungleichheiten, nie zuvor dagewesener Ausmaße von Migration und Flucht und des Erstarkens populistischer Ideologien in der jüngeren Vergangenheit drängt sich – einmal mehr – die Frage nach der gesellschaftlichen Verantwortung von Wissenschaft auf. Wie könnte, sollte oder müsste sich die Universität zu diesen Herausforderungen verhalten? Ist ihr ein intervenierendes Handeln anzuraten, ein Dialog mit anderen Orten der Wissensproduktion der Königsweg, oder gerade ein Verzicht auf jegliches Engagement jenseits der intellektuellen Reflexion? Ist es überhaupt möglich, als Wissenschaftler/in gesellschaftlich verantwortungsvoll zu handeln? Oder setzt das gar einen Ausstieg aus der Institution der Universität voraus? Als Teil der Abschlusskonferenz des Promotionsprogramms “Migrationsgesellschaftliche Grenzformationen” (Oldenburg, Göttingen, Osnabrück) bringt das Podium hochkarätige Gäste zu diesen und weiteren Fragen zum Thema miteinander ins Gespräch. Es diskutieren:
