The goal of this course is to provide a well-rounded, internationally oriented overview of the field of state crime/crimes of the powerful with a focus on counter-insurgency. By being exposed to and participating in current research of expert scholars from across the globe, students will gain a deeper understanding of how and why these types of crimes occur as well as what has been or can be done to constrain them.

State Crime: Crimes of the powerful

The course will also provide students with the foundations to understand the complexities and symbiotic nature of these crimes. Students will be given the opportunity to present their own paper or project. The course will be taught seminar style and in English language for a max. of 30 students either as an in-person/online hybrid course or fully online via Zoom.

No course fee.

The course will offer a certificate of completion.
