Peter Gatrell: Writing Refugees into Global History, 1900 to the Present

The historian Peter Gatrell will present his innovative approach, which combines the history of migration with global history. The lecture focusses on the omission of refugees in the writing of global history and offers possible approaches to fill this gap. His newest publications include: The Unsettling of Europe: How Migration Reshaped a Continent, New York 2019; as well as The Making of the Modern Refugee, Oxford 2013.
