The conference features keynotes by Aleida Assmann, Viet Thanh Nguyen and Patricio Guzmán. Hosting over 350 research panels, 13 roundtables and special sessions, a mini film-festival, theatre performances and exhibitions the conference addresses a number of crucial themes within memory studies. The Memory Studies Association aims to provide the main annual networking opportunity for scholars and practitioners in the field. Speakers include Elisabeth Jelin, Astrid Erll, Susannah Radstone, Marianne Hirsch, Darlene St.Clair, Jie-Hyun Lim, Ciraj Rassool and many others. In addition to a PhD training school and events organized by various Working Groups, we are offering a limited-spot methodology workshop, as well as 15 Masterclasses on different methodological approaches. Find more information here. The main conference kicks off at 6 PM on June 25th with Aleida Assmann’s keynote address. On June 29th there is the possibility to join an excursion to the Valley of the Fallen.

And whether or not you can attend the conference, we invite you to become a member of the Memory Studies Association, which will also allow you to participate on one of its many working or regional groups.
