The Second World War still offers numerous research desiderata, e.g. the question of how trade, the exercise of free professional activities and other (leisure) occupations were organized during the German occupation. Social and everyday history, which under the influence of new research perspectives belong to fruitful fields of historical research, are among the topics that have not yet been sufficiently investigated. It is precisely through micro-historical questions that important insights can be gained, for example into the history of supply, trade and services.
The junior researcher conference, jointly organised by the German Historical Institute Warsaw, the Herder Institute for Historical Research on Eastern Central Europe, the Polish Academy of Sciences and the University of Warsaw, aims to contribute to networking young scholars working in the field and to imparting further impulses for current research approaches to their work.
During the junior researcher conference, various topics and relevant research approaches will be addressed and discussed on the basis of important texts. A keynote speech will also provide further impetus in terms of content. The conference language will be English.
