Center for Dialogue and Reconciliation „ISKRA” (Ukraine) with its partners Kulturaktiv e.V. (Germany) and Interra (Russian Federation) organizes a youth exchange in the Eurocity Görlitz/Zgorzelec on the topic of socialist memories within the post-transformational societies of Russia, Ukraine and Eastern Germany.
The project deals with the culture of remembrance in the three partner countries and how the past (especially after 1945) is reflected in the societies and also in the appearance of the cities. During the youth exchange we will interview local people about their personal views on the Socialist past and on how the memory of this past is kept nowadays. The second part of the project will be a photographical convergence to the memories of Görlitz. We will share the results on social networks and open up a discussion about how we are reflecting the socialist past.
We encourage the participants to bring their own experiences and thoughts about local memory in their regions to the youth exchange in order to compare and share views on the topic.
