Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU Munich) is one of the leading research universities in Europe, with a more than 500-year-long tradition. As part of the “LMU Academic Career Program”, LMU Munich will award 15 LMU Research Fellowships to excellent junior academics.

LMU invites applications from early-stage postdoctoral researchers from all fields of research who have recently completed their doctoral degrees. The program gives successful candidates the opportunity to carry out an independent research project with the support of an LMU professor and enhances their career development by fostering the training and mobility of fellows. The University offers ten Incoming and five Outgoing LMU Research Fellowships to outstanding early career researchers. The fellowships are tenable for two years and may be extended for an additional year in exceptional cases. Fellows will receive an attractive salary and a substantial research budget. In addition, fellows will be members of the Young Center of the Center for Advanced Studies.

LMU Munich is an equal opportunity employer committed to excellence through diversity and therefore explicitly encourages women to apply. Disabled applicants with essentially equal qualifications will be given preference.

Closing date for applications is 12 November 2019 at 14:00 (CET).

Fellowships must commence by September 2020.
