The University of Portsmouth, Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, advertises bursaries (fees and maintenance grant) for PhD research for three years. One of its priority areas in the Transnational Europe research cluster which facilitates research inter alia on transnational/transfer aspects modern and contemporary European hisotry and the transnational politics of history. Applicants whose work is social science informed may also be guided towards applying for one of the Economic and Social Research Council funded bursaries as part of the ESRC South Coast Doctoral Training Programme which Portsmouth runs together with the University of Southampton.
