"Bachtin-Lefebvre Prize for Studies in SpatioTemporality" 2018
The research group “Spatio-Temporal Studies Erfurt” announces the awarding of the Bachtin-Lefebvre Prize for Studies in SpatioTemporality.
The research group “Spatio-Temporal Studies Erfurt” is concerned with the elaboration of a theoretical basis for the development of interdisciplinary and transregional research on the symbiosis of space of time, e.g. SpatioTemporality, applicable to all epochs. Its activities include the organisation of workshops, the realisation of individual research projects, and generally offering an inspiring framework for discussions of doctoral candidates and post-docs, as well as the active networking of researchers. The prize to be awarded is named after two theoreticians who dealt in their work with significant aspects of Spatiality, Temporality and SpatioTemporality. These works have not lost their value and pertinence for innovative social and cultural sciences.
The prize will be rewarded in the form of printing subsidies in the amount of 2.500 EUR. A prerequisite for the subsidy is the inclusion of the publication in the series “SpatioTemporality” (see https://www.degruyter.com/view/serial/466365).
Procedure: Formats eligible for the prize are monographs, preferably in English, on the topics related to SpatioTemporality, coming from all disciplines. Further, academic qualifications completed in 2017 or 2018 (the date that is decisive here is that of the last examination)
Beside the paper itself, the candidate should supply us with
1. an abstract (of about one page)
2. a paper of about two pages in which the motivation behind the application is to be explained,
3. a CV, and, in case of an academic qualification,
4. the reports on the academic qualification

The jury's decision is final and there is no recourse to legal action.

The Bachtin-Lebfebvre Prize for Studies in SpatioTemporality is funded by the “Sciencefunding Erfurt gGmbH”.
Only the German version is legally binding.

Ausschreibung: „Bachtin-Lefebvre Prize for Studies in SpatioTemporality“ 2018
Die Erfurter RaumZeit-Forschung schreibt erstmals den Bachtin-Lefebvre Prize for Studies in SpatioTemporality für Forschungen zu RaumZeitlichkeit aus.
Die Forschungsgruppe „Erfurter Raumzeit-Forschung“ beschäftigt sich intensiv mit der Erarbeitung theoretischer Grundlagen zur Konzeptualisierung einer interdisziplinären, transregionalen und transepochalen Erforschung von RaumZeitlichkeiten. Die Forschungsgruppe organisiert Workshops, führt eigene Forschungsprojekte durch, bietet einen inspirierenden Diskussionsrahmen für Promovierende und Post-Docs und betreibt aktive Vernetzung von Forschenden. Der auszugebende Preis ist nach zwei Theoretikern benannt, die sich in ihrem Werk intensiv mit theoretischen Aspekten von Räumlichkeit, Zeitlichkeit und Raumzeitlichkeit beschäftigt haben und auch weiterhin für Sozial- und Kulturwissenschaften inspirierend sind. Mit dem Preis werden Publikationsprojekte gefördert. Er wird deshalb in Form eines Druckkostenzuschusses in Höhe von 2.500 EUR und der Aufnahme der preiswürdigen Publikation in die Reihe SpatioTemporality ausgegeben. Verfahren: Eingereicht werden können Monographien, vorzugsweise in Englisch, zu Themen der Raumzeitlichkeit aus allen Disziplinen. Angenommen werden auch Qualifikationsschriften, die in den Jahren 2017 oder 2018 abgeschlossen worden sind. (Ausschlaggebend ist das Datum der letzten Prüfung.)
Einzureichen sind neben der Schrift selbst ein Abstract (ca. eine Seite), eine ein- bis max. zweiseitige Begründung für die Bewerbung, ein Lebenslauf, im Falle einer Qualifikationsschrift auch die Gutachten – alles in elektronischer Form (max. 5 MB) an: raumzeitforschung@uni-erfurt.de

Ein Rechtsanspruch auf Förderung besteht nicht. Der oder die Gewinnerin des Preises wird spätestens Ende März 2019 bekanntgegeben. Der Bachtin-Lefebvre Prize for Studies in SpatioTemporality wird von der Wissenschaftsförderung Erfurt gGmbH finanziert.
