The recruitment for the position of a Post-doc under the National Science Centre grant "Documents and Bureaucracy in the formerly German lands: State Making, Regulating and Controlling in Poland and Czechoslovakia (1940s–1970s)".

Post-doc

Post-docs must meet all of the following conditions:

- They did not have the principal investigator as their research supervisor or auxiliary supervisor of their PhD dissertation for a PhD degree
- Their PhD degree has been awarded by another institution than the one planned to employ them at this post or they have completed a continuous and evidenced post-doctoral fellowship of at least 10 months in another institution than the host institution for the project and in another country than the one in which they have been conferred a PhD degree
- At the time of receiving remuneration, they will not be receiving any other remuneration paid from the funds granted to research projects under NCN calls under the heading of direct costs
- In the period of receiving the remuneration they will be receiving no remuneration from another employer pursuant to an employment contract, including an employer with its registered office outside of Poland

Scope of work:

- collecting and analysing materials in selected Polish and Czech archives and libraries (Poznań, Gorzów Wielkopolski, Słupsk, Praga, Teplice, Most, Louny, Kadaň)
- at least one article written together with PI and submitted to peer-review journal and one article written by the post-doc alone (both in English); two articles in any language that meet the requirement of the evaluation of Polish research units
- disseminating research results during open seminars, festivals and presentations (also in English)
- administrative work related to the project (reporting and documentation); details will be presented during the interviews

Eligibility criteria

Required documents:

- An academic curriculum vitae with academic accomplishments
- A copy of the PhD diploma
- A cover letter where the person can prove a very good passive knowledge of Polish, Czech and German (e.g. previous research, publications, internships and foreign scholarships)
- A list of scholarly achievements, including publications, conference and seminar papers, participation in research projects, academic internships, prizes and awards)
- A copy of a certificate indicating knowledge of English; if the candidate does not possess the certificate, the interview may be conducted in English for the purposes of verification
- A list of publications with one selected publication attached in the form of a published article in English
- Contact information (including e-mail)

Monthly salary of 10,000 PLN during 48 months full-time employment. These amounts will be reduced by the relevant contributions. Fieldtrips will also be financed, as well as the equipment such as laptop.

Documents must be sent by January 23, 2022 by e-mail to sekretariat@ispan.waw.pl (the title of the document: post-doc Opus „Bureaucracy…“), or delivered to the office of the Institute of Slavic Studies, Polish Academy of Sciences, 1b/17 Bartoszewicza Street in Warsaw on the above-mentioned date.
