LBI London publishes academic research, organises public lectures, workshops and international conferences, and runs an international Doctoral Fellowship program.

Social Media and Website Manager

The Leo Baeck Institute London is recruiting a Social Media and Website Manager to manage our website and social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube). The Leo Baeck Institute London is part of Leo Baeck International, the world’s leading institute for the study of German-Jewish history and culture, with branches also in New York, Jerusalem and Berlin. LBI London publishes academic research, organises public lectures, workshops and international conferences, and runs an international Doctoral Fellowship program.

Our Social Media Manager will curate and maintain the institute’s website and social media channels and will track, analyse and report on the institute’s performance on social media platforms. S/he will investigate and evaluate the current online trends and techniques of similar academic institutions, and recommend and implement improvements to improve the LBI’s own online impact and outreach.

We are looking for a team-oriented, communicative colleague with experience in website and social media management.

Tasks
- Website maintenance (update content, add posts, implement technical updates, improve performance)
- Post information and accompanying images provided by our team on our social media channels
- Manage separate Instagram, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter streams
- Post announcements for events and other information related to the institute’s program

Essential Skills and Experience
- Website Maintenance and Management
- Social Media Management
- High level of written communication
- WordPress, Microsoft Office

Desirable
- Knowledge of German
- Humanities degree; knowledge of German-Jewish History and Culture

Salary
Part-time (30 %) position at GBP 28,000 p.a. pro-rata, NEST

Working Hours & Leave
12 hrs per week as per arrangement with the director. Leave: 5 weeks p.a. pro-rata and UK public holidays.

Location
Combination of working from home and on site at the LBI London Office, currently at QMUL Mile End Campus. The institute plans to move in the near future to the Bloomsbury campus of Birkbeck University London.
