We call for applications for one fully financed 3-year doctoral position in the field of Jewish thought at the University of Lille, France, starting on October 1, 2023. The position will be part of the Research Center of Cultures, Languages and Literatures (CECILLE) and of the Lille Doctoral School for Humanities and Social Sciences.

1 Doctroal Position "French-German Jewish thought"

The successful candidate will be enrolled in the PhD program under the supervision of Prof. Elad Lapidot. Taking residence in Lille will not be required. Prior knowledge of French is required. Candidates must hold an MA by July 2023.

The successful candidate will conduct a PhD project that concerns the transfer of Jewish thought between Germany and France. See here a more detailed description of the research field: project description.

(3) project proposal of 4–5 pages (must correspond to the project description), including: an original question that can be addressed within the time frame of a thesis; a precise state of the art; if necessary, an analytical presentation of the chosen corpus; a presentation of the proposed method; a real reflection on the innovative character of the work planned; a bibliography
(4) One letter of reference
(5) the completed form “Dossier candidat” (in French)
