El proyecto "Convertir la tierra en capital" tiene como objetivo comprender el papel de la tierra como medio de (re)producción de riqueza en América Latina y el Caribe. Se centra en particular en las dos fases que van desde la década de 1860 hasta la Gran Depresión de 1929 y desde la década de 1980 hasta la década de 2020. El proyecto se articula en torno a tres líneas temáticas de investigación: 1) Constelaciones Políticas; 2) Culturas de la Riqueza; y 3) Transformaciones Ecológicas del Paisaje

Condiciones de la beca
- Se evaluarán la trayectoria y la reputación científica, publicaciones, la experiencia en el tema de investigación, y la calidad del proyecto presentado
- El proyecto está comprometido con la inclusión y la meta de la paridad de género. Da la bienvenida expresamente a las solicitudes de personas con discapacidades severas y discapacitadas, debidamente calificadas
- Se espera que las y los becarios residan durante la duración de la beca en Berna y participen en las actividades y eventos del proyecto “Turning land into capital”, a tiempo completo en sus diferentes oficinas regionales a saber: Puebla, Quito, Rio de Janeiro, Buenos Aires, Bern y Bielefeld
- Hacer uso de los recursos del proyecto y de la institución anfitriona, la Universidad de Berna, incluidos el espacio de oficinas, el acceso a las bibliotecas y las instalaciones de investigación
- Pequeño fondo para viajes de investigación para trabajar en bibliotecas y archivos
- La entrega de un manuscrito sobre la temática investigada indicada con una perspectiva propia e innovadora. La forma adecuada de publicación de los resultados de investigación se acordará con el comité de coordinación del proyecto
- Anualmente, además, se espera que los becarios den cuenta de sus actividades en un informe según las directrices de la fundación Volkswagen
