A New Beginning Gabriele Alex, Alexis von Poser The last issue of ZfE-(JSCA), the double-volume 144 of 2019, marked the 150th anniversary of the journal. It dealt with the past and present of the discipline variously called Ethnology or Social and Cultural Anthropology, as well as expectations for its future. The present volume continues along these lines, but places the focus more firmly on the future, with a special section on ‘Envisioning Anthropological Futures’, and a new outline and design for the journal as a whole.
