The Danish Institute for Advanced Study (DIAS) seeks an outstanding candidate to fill a position at the Assistant Professor level in the field of Political History and/or Digital History of the modern period (19th to 21st Century). The position is sponsored by the Department of History and starting September 1, 2021 or as soon as possible thereafter. The department is located at University of Southern Denmark (SDU) in Odense.
The appointment is for four years with the possibility for a subsequent two years of employment as an Associate Professor. Teaching obligations will be reduced in this position compared to a regular Assistant Professor position at SDU and there will be substantial funds available to support research plans.
We expect the applicants to actively engage in the development of the research groups at the Department of History as well as contribute to the interdisciplinary research in DIAS.

The successful applicant will be affiliated with the group for political history at the Department of History. The group on political history is built around a broad understanding of political history.
