This year the Graduate school of the Dipartimento di Studi Storici, Geografici e dell’Antichità (DISSGeA) at the University of Padua, the Dipartimento di Studi Umanistici (DSU) and the Dipartimento di Studi Linguistici e Culturali Comparati (DSLCC) Università Ca’ Foscari, Venice grants 13 scholarships among which 1 funded by Fondazione Cariparo and 2 by the ERC Project “The Water Cultures of Italy, 1500-1900 (https://dottoratogesta.it/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/SCHEDA-BANDO-ERC_Water-Cultures_Gentilcore_project-outline-for-PhDs.pdf)

Research Project
Applications in all fields of history, including global history and history of historiography, geography, anthropological and religious studies are welcome. Applicants are selected through an open competition based on qualifications and, for invetees only, an interview. A 5-member Board evaluates the candidates’ dossiers, rates them and draws up a ranking. PhD scholarships are awarded for four years in accordance with the ranking list. The annual gross amount of the doctoral scholarship is € 15.343,28 for each year, including the social security contributions.
Applications from all Universities, countries and ages are welcome as long as the applicant hold a Master’s Degree or an equivalent 4-year (minimum) foreign qualification. Candidates can submit their application even if they have not obtained their Master’s Degree yet, but they must have it in hand by September 30th.
Please note that candidates wishing to compete for places with priority research grants for the ERC Project “The Water Cultures of Italy, 1500-1900” must indicate this in their application, selecting the relative subjects. Otherwise, the selection Board may not consider their candidatures for the ERC Scholarships.
