The IAHCCJ and the Fondation de la Maison des Sciences de l’Homme announce the Herman Diederiks Prize 2021.

Herman Diederiks Prize 2021

In honor of its founder and first president, the IAHCCJ (International Association for the History of Crime and Criminal Justice) has instituted an award for an original article, in the field of the history of crime and criminal justice broadly conceived, written by a scholar at the beginning of his or her academic career (normally someone who is working on a doctorate or who has completed a doctorate no more than three years before submitting the paper to the journal). Within the field, there are no limitations on the subject. The article, however, must be in French or English and must not have been previously published.

The award-winning article will be assured of publication in the present journal. In addition, the Fondation de la Maison des Sciences de l’Homme offers the winner a grant of 1000 € to be used for study or other professional purposes.

Articles submitted should:
- Present original research which combines new data with broader reflections on historiographical, methodological and/or theoretical issues;
- Open up new avenues for research or renew approaches in existing fields

Manuscripts must be submitted before 31 October 2021, with a CV. The editorial board serves as jury. Manuscript should be sent (preferably by e-mail) to the Editor of Crime, History and Societies (see below).
