{Hi}Stories, is a research project that looks into ways of supporting user-generated contents as historical records. It parts from the premise that a significant segment of the record of modern life can be already found online. On the Internet, however, though contents are continually being produced, they are continually disappearing. Than it is time to think on the best ways to collect, organize, present and preserve this material. In this sense, the objective of {Hi}Stories is to build a comprehensive archive of digital resources produced by individuals, which present investigations and future historical research could benefit from.
In the context of the {Hi}Stories project, I'm looking for historians who could help me on my research by answering 4 situation-questions about online research of historical sources. The questions can be answered on the following address: <http://hi-stories.entretags.com/>
The aim of this inquiry is to evaluate different resources under the perspective of historians.
I'm also looking for 12 historians who could take part in the initial user tests of this system.
The test will be arranged by appointment, and will take no longer than 30 minutes from each attendant. It will take place at the Interaction Design Lab of the Fachhoschule Potsdam. The appointments can be scheduled on any date from 4th to 8th March, between 9h and 18h.
30€ will be offered to each attendant in order to cover transportation expenses.
