2016 is an exciting year for the UK with profound implications for the future of the British Isles. On 23 June, the UK will vote on its membership in the European Union, and on 8 May regional elections in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland will take place. The outcome of both elections may potentially manifest the internal and external division of the (once) United Kingdom. In the light of current events, the Centre for British Studies has invited prestigious speakers from academia and politics to provide their perspectives, particularly with regard to the Brexit referendum and the calls for Scottish independence.
All lectures take place at the Centre for British Studies, Mohrenstr. 60, Room 105.
