Today’s US Virgin Islands have a complex history involving people from various cultures, countries and continents. The conference looks at what is shared within this history, i.e. the relations, connections and exchanges, between people, ideas and objects in the islands and in other geographical spaces on a regional, Atlantic and global scale. The conference is organized by the Danish West Indies Society and the Flensburg Maritime Museum in collaboration with the Friends of Denmark in St. Croix, St. Thomas and St. John. The conference language is English.
