Call for Papers:
"Asian German Studies"
The German Studies Association Conference
October 8 - 11, 2009 Washington, D.C.
For the past few years the German Studies Association (GSA) has been an important forum for scholarly efforts to transnationalize German Studies and place German history in a global perspective. Those of us who have been active in this area would like to organize a series of panels on the topic of “Asian German Studies” at the 2009 conference of the GSA (October 8-11, Washington DC).
Proposals from all disciplines are welcome for panels or individual papers dealing with any aspect of Asian German Studies in any time period. Proposals with a transnational focus are particularly welcome. Interested individuals should send via email abstracts (300 words) and a brief CV by January 30, 2009 to Young-sun Hong (email@example.com , State University of New York at Stony Brook).
Please pass this CFP along to anyone else who might be interested. More information regarding the conference can be found on the GSA’s website (http://www.thegsa.org/).
