In recent years, the history of science has received increasing attention. In the field of Central and Eastern European history scholars have been investigating the interplay between science and cultural, political and social developments. The goal of the Munich Spring School is to demonstrate the extent to which themes and research methods of the history of science can inspire the field of East European history.

Master students interested in the history of science and with a solid background in the history of Central and/or Eastern Europe are invited to submit applications to the Munich Spring School. Eight successful applicants will be invited to Munich to participate at the Spring School. The workshop is held in English, thus good English language skills are mandatory, German language skills are an advantage. We will offer free board and lodging for the invited participants and a grant for the cost of the trip.

The Munich Spring School is organized by the institute of East and Southeast European history of the University of Munich, the Graduate School for East and Southeast European Studies in Munich and Regensburg, and the Collegium Carolinum and the Depatrment of the History of Science of the University Munich.

If you are interested in participating in the Munich Spring School, please submit your application to Martin Schulze Wessel (Martin.SchulzeWessel@lrz.uni-muenchen.de) or Björn Felder (bjoern.felder@lrz.uni-muenchen.de)
