The deadline for paper and panel/roundtable proposals has been extended to midnight 24 October 2021. To propose a panel or a paper you will need to fill in the electronic proposal form on this website.

BASEES welcomes paper, panel and roundtable proposals in the following areas: Politics; History; Sociology and Geography; Film and Media, Languages and Linguistics; Literatures and Cultures; and Economics. The conference especially welcomes participation by postgraduate research students and early career scholars.

BASEES will allow a limited number of remote paper presentations. If you wish to attend remotely, please indicate so when submitting your proposal. We cannot accept fully remote panels. Remote presentations as part of full panel proposals are limited to one remote presentation in panels with three speakers (excluding the chair) and two remote presentations in panels/roundtables with four to five speakers (excluding chair).
