The Polish western territories are an unique laboratory in which it is possible to observe the dynamics of attitudes towards the cultural heritage taken over together with the territories formerly inhabited by people of foreign cultural and linguistic backgrounds. In the history of the last 200 years in the Baltic Sea region, there have been several territories that have changed their political, and often also their ethnic affiliation, such as Pomerania, Schleswig, East Prussia, and Karelia. The aim of the meeting will be to discuss the transformation of relations towards the foreign cultural heritage found in these areas after armed conflicts and border changes.
