Energy crisis, Ukraine war, global warming, and worldwide epidemics - in view of the multitude of current crises, conflicts and catastrophes, voices are being raised that speak of a "turning point in time" or an epochal upheaval. Whether these crises are ushering in an epochal break, or the forces of persistence prevail is, however, an open question.
But what explanatory content does the phrase of critical times have for the current constellation? Which developments are to be regarded as serious stress tests for society, and which constructions of relief are found?
