Online seminar (German Historical Institute, Rome), 15 December

The presentation outlines some results of a research project developed in collaboration with the Jewish Community Museum of Trieste “Carlo and Vera Wagner”, which aims to reconstruct a largely still little-known chapter of anti-Jewish persecution in Italy and to give back a face and a name to as many persecuted Italian Jewish musicians as possible. The starting point for this research was a conference held in Trieste in 2015, which was followed by the publication of the proceedings for Palgrave in 2021 (Italian Jewish Musicians and Composers under Fascism. Let Our Music Be Played).
