The Journal of the History of Ideas is pleased to announce the conference "Culture and the Politics of Identity in Modern Romania" to be held at the Elisabeta Palace in Bucharest, Romania May 27-30, 1998.

The multi-disciplinary symposium will focus on mentalities, cultural forms, institutions and the construction of identities. It brings together scholars from Romania, US, Europe, and Israel.
