ISAB-Diskurs 2014 befasst sich aus sprach-, literatur- und medienwissenschaftlicher Perspektive mit Theorie- und Methodenkomplex der ›Diskursanalyse‹. In Fortsetzung der bisherigen Sommerakademien ISAB-TeSta 2012 und ISAB-SuKo 2013 wird ISAB-Diskurs 2014 überdies einen germanistischen Fokus aufweisen.
Der interdisziplinäre Ansatz der Sommerakademie bezieht sich zunächst auf die komplexen theoretischen und methodologischen Eckpunkte der Diskurstheorie und die mit ihnen verbundenen Analysemethoden. Im Zentrum steht dabei das Kernkonzept ›Wissen‹. Einen wichtigen Anker der theoretisch-methodologischen Diskussion stellt hier die Diskursanalyse nach Foucault dar.
Die interdisziplinäre Streuung der Diskursanalyse soll im Rahmen von ISAB-Diskurs 2014 durch vier Leitkonzepte strukturiert werden: ›Kritik‹, ›Erinnerung‹, diskursive Kodierung von ›Emotion‹ und ›Postkolonialität‹. Das Leitkonzept ›Postkolonialität‹ kann als Fortsetzung von ISAB-SuKo 2013 gesehen werden und bildet einen Bezug zum Forschungsschwerpunkt „Sprache und Kolonialismus“ bzw. „(Post)Colonial Literary Studies“ der Universität Bremen. Die Auswahl der Leitkonzepte begründet sich aus dem Ziel, Studierenden die Möglichkeit zu geben, theoretisches Wissen mit konkreten und aktuell relevanten Fragestellungen zu verbinden.

From the perspective of Language Studies, Literary Studies and Media Studies, ISAB-Discourse looks at the complex of theories and models concerning Discourse-Analysis. In continuation of ISAB-TeSta 2012 and ISAB-SuKo 2013, ISAB-Discourse 2014 will focus on German Studies.
The interdisciplinary approach of this Summer School looks first of all into the complex theoretical and methodological tent poles of Discourse Theory and the methods of analyzing in connection with it. The concept of ›knowledge‹ plays an important role. Another important foundation is Foucault’s Theory of Discourse.
The following four key concepts represent the interdisciplinary dispersion of Discourse Analysis: ›Criticism‹, ›Commemoration‹, discourse encoding of ›Emotion‹ and ›Postcolonialism‹. The key concept of ›Postcolonialism‹ can be seen as a continuation of ISAB-SuKo 2013 and creates a link to the research on Language in Colonial Contexts and (Post)Colonial Literary Studies, both of which University of Bremen focuses on. The selection of key concepts is aimed at providing a chance for students to combine their theoretical knowledge with specific and current research questions.
