Dipesh Chakrabarty (University of Chicago): "Postcolonial Thought Past 1989"

This lecture discusses the history of Anglophone postcolonial criticism since 1989 to highlight three challenges that the field faces now: the fragmentation of academic Marxism as a discursive field after the end of the cold war, the clash between economy and ecology, and the tension between analyses of globalization and those of global warming.
