Memory Studies Network Call for Submissions for the German Studies Association 41st Annual Meeting, Oct.5-8, 2017 in Atlanta, GA
Co-Chairs of the Network: Ben Nienass (California State University at San Marcos), Katja Wezel (University of Pittsburgh) and Jenny Wüstenberg (York University, Toronto)
The Memory Studies Network welcomes submissions of papers, roundtables and especially full panels that focus on issues of memory and remembrance in Germany.
We particularly seek papers and panels on the following topics:
- Memories of migration or flight in Germany
- Populism and the uses of the past
- Interdisciplinary approaches to memory studies on Germany
- German memory in comparative and transnational context
Panel proposals should include a panel title and abstract (200 words max), as well as panelists’ names, affiliations, paper titles, and abstracts (200 words max). Please include the names and affiliations of a panel chair and discussant (the co-chairs of the Memory Studies Network are happy to assist with finding discussants and chairs if needed.)
Paper proposals should include author name(s), affiliation(s), paper title, and an abstract (200 words max).
