As part of Aston University's Black History Month, the Department of History, Languages and Translation will be hosting a free online event with award-winning historian and TV personality, Professor David Olusoga OBE.

In his works, Professor Olusoga has highlighted how the teaching, learning, and commemorating of history in Britain has erased the centuries-long presence of Black people on the British Isles, as well as the centrality of colonialism and slavery in shaping modern British history.

Do Black Lives Matter in British History?

Join us in an open discussion with Professor Olusoga about his work and about how we can improve the ways in which we think about and remember our past.

Any questions for Professor Olusoga must be submitted in advance by Monday 26th October.
