Through its location, its infrastructure, and its research team, the Institute for Danube Swabian History and Regional Studies (IdGL) in Tübingen provides excellent conditions for research and for scholarly exchange. This is also the objective of the research fellowship offered by the institute on behalf of the state of Baden-Württemberg. The fellowship is aimed at students with a BA degree, at doctoral students, as well as at postdocs who work on questions and topics that tie in with the research program of the institute.
The institute is particularly interested in projects in the fields of history, from the early modern period up to the present, literature, political science, cultural studies, historical and cultural anthropology, which:
- look into questions of migration, minorities, and memory

The fellowship is aimed at candidates from countries in east-central and south-eastern Europe (Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Hungary). It offers the possibility to develop and work on a research project in close cooperation with the researchers at IdGL.
