Combat Poverty is an Irish organization <www.cpa.ie> which has a statutory remit to promote research on the nature, causes and extent of poverty in Ireland. It invites applications for the following academic research opportunity, as part of its extensive research programme 2002:
* Combat Poverty PhD fellowships for poverty research
* The PhD fellowship provides funding for doctoral research. The award is valued at EURO 13,000 per annum plus fees (where applicable) and is payable for up to three years, subject to conditions. Applicants should/will be registered at a recognised third-level institution in the Republic of Ireland or Northern Ireland and have a high-level primary degree. Applicants with relevant work experience are welcomed.
