The Leo Baeck Institute London is pleased to offer a 3-year John A. S. Grenville studentship for an outstanding doctoral candidate wishing to pursue a research project in the field of German Jewish history and culture with a focus on the late 19th and 20thcenturies. Applications are invited from current and prospective graduates with an excellent academic track record. Potential fields of investigation are:
-- Jewish intellectual history (19th-20th centuries)
-- Modern German-Jewish history (20th century)
-- Jewish cultural history (20th century)

The studentship is named after John A. S. Grenville (1928-2011), an eminent scholar of modern world history and German Jewish history. The studentship amounts to £24,000 per year, from which tuition fees (£3,732 in 2011/12 for Home/EU students, £11,450 in 2011/12 for non-EU students), must be paid.

The recipient of this scholarship will be enrolled at the doctoral programme at the School of History, Queen Mary, University of London.
