Applications are invited for up to 2 visiting fellowships within the framework of the TRG Poverty and Education in India at the German Historical Institute London. The fellowships are of 1-2 months’ duration and will be awarded for the current year (2015). They are open to senior and early career (postdoctoral) scholars working on the subject. The fellowships consist of a monthly grant and, in the case of scholars from overseas, a lump sum towards the cost of travel to the UK.

The fellows are expected to use their time in the UK to work on a topic which is related to the research focus of the TRG and give a lecture on their topic at GHIL. A research paper, based on research conducted as TRG visiting fellow, for publication in the TRG Working Paper Series will be welcome: http://www.ghil.ac.uk/trg_poverty_and_education/publications.html

“Poverty Reduction and Policy for the Poor between the State and Private Actors: Education Policy in India since the Nineteenth Century”

is directed by the German Historical Institute London in cooperation with faculty members from the Centre for Historical Studies and the Zakir Husain Centre for Educational Studies of the Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, the Centre for the Study of Developing Societies, New Delhi, the Centre for Modern Indian Studies, University of Göttingen and the King’s India Institute, King’s College London.

Applications should contain a full CV, list of publications and an outline of research project and plan of work (not exceeding 2000 words) for the fellowship period.
