At the University of Bremen, Faculty 8 of Social Sciences and the Department of History invite applications for the following academic position (under the condition of job release)
3-year Ph.D. Researcher (f/m/d), Salary Scale TV-L 13, part-time 75 %, start date: as soon as possible. The position is limited to a term of 36 months.

The time limitation is based on § 2 (1) WissZeitVG (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz, i.e. temporary science employment act). Therefore, candidates may only be considered who dispose of the respective scope of qualification periods according to § 2 (1) WissZeitVG.
Responsibilities:
- Design and preparation of a PhD thesis within the field of „History of Sexuality“,
- Independent teaching of courses in the BA-History Program (1,5 semester hours), including the supervision and examination of students,
- Conducting historical research autonomously,
- Participation in the activities of the research group, contribution to academic and public outreach.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity for further qualification with the objective of completing a doctorate in Modern History within the framework of the employment.
Requirements:
- Master’s Degree (or equivalent) in history or in another Master’s program with a significant share of history with excellent academic credentials,
- Very good knowledge of English and German both orally and written (if German is not your mother tongue, please provide proof of at least level B1),
- Good communication skills,
- High level of commitment and initiative, ability to work in a team, careful and reliable working style.
