Anhand der Publikationen und Archivbestände polnischer und/oder ukrainischer Exilantenverbände untersucht das Projekt „Osteuropäische Auseinandersetzungen mit dem Holocaust in Exil und Emigration“ zentrale Topoi und Narrative mit Bezug auf den Holocaust und fragt nach Konjunkturen des Wissens über die Ermordung der europäischen Juden.

Based on the publications and archival records of Polish and/or Ukrainian exile associations, the project “Eastern European Engagements with the Holocaust in Exile and Emigration” examines central topoi and narratives relating to the Holocaust and investigates the conjunctures of knowledge about the murder of European Jews.

Ihre Aufgaben:
- eigenständige Forschungen zum Thema
- Archivrecherche mit längeren Aufenthalten im In- und Ausland
- Austausch und Kooperation mit thematisch verwandten Forschungsprojekten
- Arbeit an einem Postdoc-Projekt; Erstellen einer Monographie

Ihr Profil:
- erfolgreich abgeschlossenes Studium und Promotion in der Geschichtswissenschaft oder verwandten Disziplinen mit einem Schwerpunkt in der Zeitgeschichte des östlichen Europas
- zwingend erforderlich sind Lesekenntnisse im Deutschen und Englischen sowie des Polnischen oder Ukrainischen. Französische Lesekenntnisse sind wünschenswert.

Postdoctoral Researcher in the research project “Eastern European Engagements with the Holocaust in Exile and Emigration”

Your responsibilities:
- independent research on the topic
- archival research with extended stays in Germany and abroad
- Exchange and cooperation with thematically related research projects
- Carrying out a postdoctoral project; writing a monograph

Your profile:
- Successfully completed studies and doctorate in history or related disciplines with a focus on the contemporary history of Central and Eastern Europe
- Reading proficiency of German and English as well as Polish or Ukrainian is mandatory. Reading skills of French is desirable

- Remuneration based on the provisions of the Collective Agreement for the Public Sector of the Federal States (TV-L) up to salary scale TV-L 13 — depending on the candidate’s personal qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement.
