Description of the role: Research focus in accordance with the main research profile of the Institute of History of CAS: European/World History from Early Middle Ages up to the Modern Times (20th Century), involvement in collective projects, organization of conferences and preparation of conference outputs.
The place is not announced for a specific scientific department of the Institute of History.
Required qualifications: a Ph.D. degree, Dr. or their equivalent; at the time of application (30 April 2024), a maximum of 2 years since the defence of the dissertation (the period is extended by maternity leave); advanced knowledge of at least one world language.
Condition of acceptance: The advertised position is part of the Programme to support prospective human resources – post Ph.D. candidates. The selection of the applicants will take place in two rounds, first at the Institute of History of the CAS, subsequently at the CAS. The final decision on acceptance/non-acceptance in the project is made by the Academy Council of the CAS. The written background materials submitted by the applicant are evaluated by a field commission in both rounds.
We offer:
- a 1,0 FTE position (possibly reduced in the case of caring commitments)
- contract term for 12–24 months;
- gross starting salary of 36–40.000 CZK/month;
