Am Historischen Institut an der Philosophischen Fakultät der Universität zu Köln ist zum 01.04.2019 eine
Universitätsprofessur (W3) für Iberische und Lateinamerikanische Geschichte
zu besetzen.

Der/die Stelleninhaber/in soll durch herausragende wissenschaftliche Forschungen zur Iberischen und Lateinamerikanischen Geschichte national wie international ausgewiesen sein. Erwartet wird, dass er/sie über das engere Forschungsfeld hinaus breit in allen Studiengängen des Historischen Instituts lehrt und sich an den Forschungsfeldern der Fakultät, insbesondere des Global South Studies Center, beteiligt.
Es gelten die Einstellungsvoraussetzungen des § 36 des Hochschulgesetzes NordrheinWestfalen.

The Department of History at the University of Cologne (Germany) is seeking to appoint a
Full Professor (W3) in Iberian and Latin American History from April, 1st 2019 or as soon as possible thereafter.

The University invites applications from scholars with a research record of international standing and teaching expertise in the field of Iberian and Latin American history.

The appointee will conduct advanced research, give lectures and seminars, supervise and support students at the undergraduate and graduate levels and undertake administrative duties for both the Faculty and the Department. He or she is also expected to play an active role in the Global South Studies Center and to participate in, or develop, faculty-wide research projects.
Applicants will be hired in accordance with § 36 of the University Law of the State of NorthRhine Westphalia. Therefore the applicant must have completed studies with a university degree and a PhD, bring pedagogical experience, and have outstanding qualifications in scientific work and performances, which have been achieved in the context of an assistant professorship, a habilitation or as research associate.
