The UCL SSEES student body numbers around 1000 students, divided between 650 undergraduate, 300 taught graduate, and 50 graduate research students. The School has an academic staff of some 45 professors, associate professors, and lecturers, 25 teaching fellows, many visiting fellows and project-based researchers and a dedicated team of professional services staff that provides valuable support to both our students and academic staff.

Duties
The post-holder will teach and coordinate relevant Undergraduate and Postgraduate modules, including History of Modern Germany 1815-to 1990, Historical Methods & Approaches and specialist modules on specific aspects of modern German History that align to the Lecturer’s research interests. The post-holder will also supervise dissertations and PhD research students, together with serving as Personal Tutor to School students and undertaking other relevant administrative duties.

The post-holder will also pursue an active programme of research and publication in their area(s) of specialism, and engage in dissemination and engagement activities to promote their research, including leading seminars and attending conferences.

The successful candidate will

Applicants should possess:
- A PhD in modern German History.
- Prior experience of teaching at either Undergraduate or Postgraduate levels.
- A developing international research profile, including papers in peer-reviewed journals.
- Excellent English language skills, both verbal and written.
